Current Challenges and Unmet Needs in Limited-Stage Small Cell Lung Cancer (LS-SCLC)

1.Historical treatment outcomes and persistent high recurrence rates following standard concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT).-Limitations of conventional systemic therapies in sustaining long-term disease control and progression-free survival (PFS).

2.Paradigm Shift in Post-CCRT Consolidation Therapy

-Evolving role of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) as consolidation therapy post-CCRT in LS-SCLC.
-In-depth analysis of key clinical trial evidence (e.g., ADRIATIC trial) evaluating survival outcomes, durable responses, and systemic disease control.

3.Safety Profile, Toxicity Management, and Adverse Event Mitigation

-Evaluating the safety and tolerability of consolidation immunotherapy after definitive CCRT.
-Practical considerations for identifying and managing immune-related adverse events (irAEs) and radiation-induced pneumonitis in clinical practice.

In-class Difference in COPD Triple Therapy:Efficacy, Safety, Patient Friendly

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a common, progressive, and preventable inflammatory lung condition characterized by persistent airflow limitation. Long-term exposure to harmful particles or gases causes chronic inflammation in the airways and destruction of lung parenchyma, leading to narrowed airways and reduced lung elasticity.

Key Symptoms and Etiology

The primary symptoms of COPD include chronic cough, sputum production, chest tightness, and progressive exertional dyspnea (shortness of breath). The leading risk factor is cigarette smoking (including second-hand smoke), along with occupational dust exposure, air pollution, and advanced age.

Treatment and Management Strategy

While COPD is a non-curable condition, structured clinical management can effectively alleviate symptoms, reduce exacerbation risks, and improve health-related quality of life:

Smoking Cessation: The single most effective intervention to slow down lung function decline.

Inhaled Maintenance Therapy: Utilizing bronchodilators or combination therapies (including inhaled corticosteroids) to maintain airway patency and control airway inflammation.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation & Vaccination: Engaging in exercise training and receiving annual influenza and pneumococcal vaccines to prevent respiratory infections and exacerbations.
